European Space Agency (ESA)

A collaborative organization of twelve European countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK) for the design, development and deployment of satellites for scientific and commercial applications. ESA's largest establishment is its Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) at Noordwijk in the Netherlands. Its launch vehicle is the Ariane rocket.
